Why don’t we place self-care at the top of the list of things to do for ourselves?

Sometimes it feels like we’re juggling life, constantly being tugged in numerous directions and finding time to quiet your mind, allowing yourself space to breathe to maintain your equilibrium feels like an afterthought!

Balancing requires that we take care of our physical, emotional and mental health. How can you find that balance? Set limits; it's critical to set limits and give your time and energy priority. Focus on what is most important to you by learning to say "no" to requests that don't support your goals and ideals.

Practice mindfulness, being mindful, paying attention to your thoughts and feelings while being present in the moment can help manage stress and maintain your sense of reality by engaging in mindfulness practises. Tasks like running, cooking or having your nails done can help you slow down and be in the moment.

Put the date in your diary! Having the time blocked out in your calendar makes the time for yourself just as important as any other meeting, creating a deliberate space just for you and doing something you love.
